Where Our Story Began

Hands of a New Creation, Inc grew out of our founder's decision to speak openly as a survivor of domestic violence. Her experience of fear, isolation, and courage shapes every choice we make. She knew survivors needed more than a bed for a few nights, they needed people who truly understood. That conviction led to our confidential shelter, 24-hour hotline, and survivor-led leadership committed to safety, dignity, and real second chances.

Guiding Values

Our work is grounded in trauma-informed care, family unity, and long-term stability. We listen first, then help survivors create safety plans, access counseling, and stay with their children in a secure home. Education support, job training, and housing resources are woven into practical daily support. Every plan respects each person's pace and story, so women and children can rebuild lives marked by security, confidence, and economic independence.

Growth And Vision

Since opening in 2023, we have expanded from a survivor's testimony into a comprehensive support network. Our services now include a 24-hour hotline, safe housing, counseling, and an intensive two-year transitional program. We partner with hospitals, law enforcement, and community agencies, strengthening response for women and children in crisis. As we grow, our promise remains steady, survivor-led leadership, practical support, and a clear path toward lasting safety and self-sufficiency.

LaCreasia Turner

I was married to my childhood sweetheart. I moved to St. Louis Mo. where we got married. Before the marriage he was violent verbally, physically. These beatings were so bad that I suffered with black eyes, cracked ribs, he would be hiding in the house and jump out of closets and beat me, I had a restaurant and the violence took place there in front of customers. I would move and he would fine me brake into my home destroy my furniture, and the police wouldn't do anything because they stated that it was martial property. He would have the lights in house and restaurant cut off. I was so afraid of him, and I had no one to help me, so I stayed in the situation because I was afraid, he was going to kill me.

May 30, 2006, I filed for a divorce, he told me I could have the divorce over my dead body. He meant every word, June 06, 2006, He broke into my home alarmed with a knife, and crowbar for 5 hours he beat and stabbed me, he cut up my face, leaving me with over 20+ stab wounds, 78% of my bones in my face, legs, arms broken or crushed, he stabbed me from the top of my head down to my feet. he stabbed me in my spine with tore up my nerves and spinal canal, my he crushed the bones in my face causing so many broken and crushed bones that my nose couldn't be place back, the sinus canal was crushed, my left optical socket was torn apart, I had to undergo reconstructive surgery on my face. my face was put back together with metal, also my right leg, from the attempted murder attack I have lost long term memory,

After the long healing process, I decided that I needed to give back because of what the Lord Jesus had done for me. I started Hands of a New Creation INC to help women and children of domestic violence. I opened a safe/transitional for women needed a safe haven. Hands of a New Creation comes from Corinthians 5:17, God's hands shape a believer's spiritual transformation.
